On Wednesday, October 4 Cape Air donated a third Cessna 402C aircraft to Cape Cod Community College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program, demonstrating the company’s steadfast support of education and professional development in the aviation sector.
The donation of this Cessna 402 will allow students unparalleled access to real-word experience in aviation maintenance as well as the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a hands-on environment, preparing them for successful careers in this industry.
“We are pleased to support aviation education and to play a role in cultivating new talent in the field of Aviation Maintenance Technology”, said Cape Air President and CEO Linda Markham.
This is the third aircraft Cape Air has donated to the Cape Cod Community College Aviation Maintenance Technology program. “We have been actively supporting the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program since its inception in 2016, when we donated the first aircraft to the program. To see this program grow and its students flourish is a testament to our commitment to the community and to the aviation industry as a whole,” she added.
“We are proud to partner with Cape Cod Community College in this way,” said James Goddard, Senior Vice President of Fleet Planning. “Rather than retiring the aircraft completely, it is being used to teach students in the program and prepare them to work in the industry, perhaps even at an airline just down the street from where they first honed their skills in aviation technology.”
In addition to aircraft donation, Cape Air collaborates with the college to bolster its aviation curriculum and to provide a pathway for graduates pursuing a future in aviation maintenance. From access to Cape Air’s senior leadership and technical support to career development pathways, Cape Air remains a steadfast partner of the program and its students.
