Aircraft Fuel Efficiency
Air transportation service is an energy intensive business. Cape Air is committed to reducing the carbon fuel burn in our aircraft through changes in technology and flight procedures.
- Digital metering and upgraded fuel injection, along with refined flight procedures are saving 4% on the carbon burn in the Cessna 402 fleet. Similar improvements are utilized in all aircraft types in the Cape Air fleet.
- Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) equipage is standard throughout the fleet, and installed on all newly acquired aircraft to allow more direct routing in/out of equipped airports.
